Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

This is more like it...

** Haz click en las bandas al final del post, siempre hay música para todo momento / Click on the band at the end of the post, there's always music for you! **

Pensando, y me sigo tentando. Se supone que es invierno! / Also found or have these in my 'Saved items' box for quite a while. I'd definitely use them anytime, completely in my comfort zone, but not for that less pretty or risky... Man, it's supposed to be winter here!

Sentimientos encontrados / Mixed Feelings

Me tiento. / I'm tempted. It's supposed to be winter here in Lima, but the sun refuses to leave somedays, like today. There's not that much of a reason to purchase this than to store it for summer or use them randomly in a weird class day, a bit off my comfort zone to be honest. Maybe for props for photoshoots. Even if I only use them in my bedroom, I want these. Do you?

LBWH Life: Fashion Reality Shows

** English translation at the end of the post **

Un must.

I have about two weeks left of vacations and my body decided to stop a few days ago. I'm sick. And I'm sick of being sick! So, while I get better I've been doing pretty much nothing, until I found something to pass the time faster: Fashion Reality Shows!

From the classic Project Runway to the newest 24 Hour Catwalk, here's a list of the shows I've been passing my time with, and, if you find time, you should too:

Still on air in US, this show is almost the same as the usual PR, only the contestants are the most known and talented from previous seasons. So we have fabulous Austin Scarlett, Rami Kashou, Mondo Guerra, etc. Also, there's no Heidi or Tim, but we have Georgina Chapman Marchesa) and Isaac Mizrahi as judges, and Joanna Coles (Marie Claire US EIC) as Tim Gunn. Everything is big here, the prices, the challenges and the guest judges. This show is clearly a must for me, we have Austin Scarlett again!

This show is about the life of stylist and now designer Rachel Zoe and her whereabouts in fashion. I've only watched the last season and it was crazy, from getting the collection together to jump from photoshoot to photoshoot and do everything while being pregnant. Crazy right?

Centering in the life and work of Brad Goreski, former assistant for Rachel Zoe, now trying to make a name of himself in the fashion world. Here we see the fun and the struggle, photoshoots and styling, and Brad is so lovely!

Alexa Chung hosts this show. That means Alexa on 2 different outfits every week. (I actually don't need anything else) The show is about 4 designers competing to be the final two who will develop their own collections in 24 hours, yes, 24 hours. There's a new theme every week, and judges include Derek Blasberg, Cynthia Rowley and James LaForce. For me it's a so-so show, but it's fun to pass time.

Ok, this one I wasn't expecting to be good. Yes is a Project Runway spin-off, yes is about accessories. But it really works! I'm studying accessories later in the year and form it was so interesting and fun to see what they use and how they produce different shapes for their accessories in one or two days. A must.

So as you read, I really didn't do much this week. I'm still a bit sick and the doctor is on his way, but today I'll get out of my bed pain or no pain. It's too much, I'm running out of shows to watch!

Have a great day,

K.

LBWH Style: LBWH's Lady Like Bracelets

** English translation at the end of the post **

Enjoy!

And we have a new section in the blog!

Today I'll show how to built a look around LBWH's Lady Like bracelets. This time I chose Lady Like Nude and Lady Like Ultramarine Green, you can find them here.

I used the summer tones this pair of Lady Like bracelets have and paired them with a knit tank top in a raw nude tone with an assymetric hemline skirt in orange. This is THE shape of skirts for summer + the color of the year so, you can't go wrong with this one.

To accessorize, I chose a gold necklace with a tribal inspiration, a tanner nude pair of wedges to cope with the rough summer days we're having in Lima.

Hope you liked the new section! I certainly enjoyed a lot doing this.

Have a great day!

Photoshop o no Photoshop?

Victoria

** English translation at the end of the post! **

Me encanta.

**

Today I was scrolling through Tumblr, when I came across the promotional video for Victoria by Victoria Beckham Spring 2012. To be fair, it didn't scream "Victoria Beckham" at me the first time I saw it... I found it pretty youthful and it did screamed "Olsen Twins" for me and that's because this new line is exactly about that. The younger "cute" version of Victoria's main sexy line, without losing any of it's elegance. I love it.

Directed by Quentin Jones (who has previously developed a film about Victoria herself and is currently working for Chanel as well) this video is really fresh: the editing, art direction, styling, and of course the clothes...it's perfect. It may be to soon to say, but this could be a strong contender for 2012 Best Fashion Campaign Video. Sure, there's no Victoria dancing to a Pitbull song at the end of the video like the lovely Alber Elbaz, but this doesn't take away the wit from it.

*You can check some of the looks from the collection above.*

Have a great thursday!!!

Right now: about to watch New Girl!

Couture Spring 2012

Valentino

Christian Dior

Alexis Mabille

**

Even though Valentino and Christian Dior stayed pretty much in their comfort zone and the fact that we didn't get a single red dress in Valentino (what's that about?) this outfits are still gorgeous and beautifully made. As of now though, I'm defining these collections as Alexa Chung goes to gala (Valentino), Mad Men (Christian Dior, thanks Captain Obvious) and Sex And The City (seriously, I can perfectly imagine the girls in any of Alexis Mabille's outfits)

That's all for now, but I'm definitely coming back with more later!

Have a great Saturday!
